Chapter 1: Sariniya’s Curse

Proxima, 18th of Reylin

After returning from the island of Iaxos, Karaias needed to deal with the task of letting her cousins and family know about Trimostones’ fate. His uninhibited drive to see this “curse” removed was the ultimate cause of his death, but Karaias could not help but wonder if it is true…

Shan and Spack, who were promised a payment of 300 Silver Mares for helping on the expedition, were told by Karaias to wait a day or two before requesting payment from Trimostones’ estate while she handled the matter of his demise. Funeral rites would need to be prepared, and additional explanations are undoubtedly needed.

The Brotherhood of Reylin

The Brotherhood is a cult devoted to the worship and teachings of the God Reylin. Worshippers of Reylin value hard work, skill mastery, and purpose.

The faithful see Reylin as the Forgemaster, the creator of mortal metals, and the Sculptor of Numinith’s landscape as well as the human form. It was by the hammer of Reylin that Numinith appears as it does, and from his design, the world was formed.

The Frozen Pass

The Frozen Pass is a narrow gap between the Hayman Mountains that connects the frozen lands of Heldor to The Republic of Delmond. It is treacherous journey through the Pass, as rabid packs of were-beasts stalk the wilds in that area. Most folk looking to travel north or south often head toward the coast and travel by ship to avoid the dangers of this region.

Heldor

Heldor is a a generally cold country situated on the continent of Brilanor, north of the The Republic of Delmond . It is governed not by a king, but by the communal leadership of the few dozen clans that have sufficient influence. Because of their fractured method of ruling, their appearance, and their culture, many consider Heldorians to be barbarians living a cold harsh land.

Heldorians are light skinned peoples with an enduring attitude to match their hardy constitutions. They are generally taller and larger than the Sudorites to the south, and often have red, blonde, or brown hair.
